Women's Law Fund http://catalog.wrhs.org/collections/view?docId=ead/MS5255.xml The Women's Law Fund was a nonprofit organization founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1972 dedicated to eradicating gender discrimination in employment, education, government benefits, and housing. Under the direction of Jane M. Picker and Lizabeth A. Moody, the organization secured attorneys and provided funding for litigation related to women's issues. Most notably, the fund supported LaFleur, et al. v. Cleveland Board of Education, et al., a case that reached the U.S. Supreme Court in a landmark ruling concerning mandatory maternity leave for female employees. In the 1990s the fund focused on female age discrimination and discrimination faced by American women employed overseas by American companies. The Women's Law Fund disbanded in 2006. The collection consists of Women's Law Fund files related to one case of gender discrimination filed against the City of Cleveland regarding its fire department: Zamlen et al. v.
